Humans are much more engaged by emotional content than logical content. The use of feeling words and story-telling has always been ubiquitous in advertising because it works. Being able to convey a message is more than just presenting facts, you must take people on a journey. It doesn’t mean that you cannot utilize data and facts, but that you cannot limit your innovation by probabilities. The truly inspiring people in this world, people like Steve Jobs, were people that had vision and the ability to put that into a narrative that others wanted to be a part of.
Stories place us and our teams into the middle of a great adventure with limitless possibility. They also help us to learn and remember what we just listened to and experienced.
