The job of any leader, meeting manager or a learning strategist is really to bring to the conscious of his audience is what lays hidden in their unconscious.

Many leaders, speakers tell not show, show but not let experiment and learn. When we let people experiment and learn they organically begin to own the outcomes and act upon them. That is to facilitate and not train.

Today, there is a growing realization that we need to help people transform by choice than put them in strait-jacket of performance techniques through hard-nosed training.

With its focus on listening, watching, sensing more than telling, showing and creating rigid structures, facilitation is the new leadership ideal, the core competency every leader and learning specialist needs.

In this 12th Learning Session by the International Association of Facilitators, Philippines, learn the basics of masterful facilitation and;

  1.   discern between teaching, training, coaching and facilitation
  2.   pin-point primary competencies for effective group facilitation
  3.  separate, sort and then synthesize content and process
  4.  identify stages of trust building in meetings and forums
  5.  employ simple process tools to make meetings easier and effective

Facilitated by Raju Mandhyan and/or Noel Tan, this short interaction will be activity-driven where, of course, you will not be told what to sense, see and learn but to explore, uncover and own of your own choice because it is you who wants to become a great facilitator and a leader.
